Funding MUG

Initially, MUG has granted membership free of charge. Because, to date, we have unsufficient data regarding our current and future operating expenses, we are reluctant to cite a particular amount of individual membership dues.

On or around the first of April 2011, we plan to begin collecting membership dues based on our experience, number of Members, and the operating expenses of MUG. We expect a simple and very modest dues structure.

Until then, we will look to individuals, local business, community organizations, and MUG Members for donations of cash, services, materials, and promotion in order to operate MUG. If you would wish to help during start-up, we will happily accept donations.


At each MUG Evening Program, we present a Donation Box. Our Presenters often travel significant distances and go to considerable effort to provide our Evening Programs. MUG should, at a minimum, cover the costs of fuel and meals for our speakers. Therefore, at each MUG Evening Program, we encourage Program attendees (Members and non-members) to be generous and contribute in order that we will be able to reimburse our Presenters who make possible our annual series of 24 semi-monthly Evening Programs.
