The Mountain User Group of the Uncompahgre Valley (MUG) is a club of outdoor enthusiasts in Montrose and the entire Uncompahgre Valley. We provide semi-monthly, evening programs in several categories: informational, instructional, inspirational, and social. In addition to interesting programs, we serve the community by enabling Members to connect with other Members of similar interests in order that many more area residents will get together to enjoy informal, private trips to the outdoors than ever before, by using our on-line MUG MemberMatch Site, which is available exclusively to MUG Members. We welcome Members with diverse interests: human-powered activities including hiking, ice climbing, rock climbing, skiing, snowshoeing, snowboarding, ice skating, skijoring, orienteering, backpacking, trail running, mountain biking, road biking, fishing, photography, kayaking, rafting, canoeing, mushrooming, caving, birding, archeology, painting, and other activities in the outdoors. Disabled persons in our community can find new ways to enjoy the outdoors, and MUG will serve to help disabled individuals to get outside with supportive friends.
